The Advance is the accountable, designated mission giving arm of the United Methodist church that ensures 100% of each gift is used for its intended mission or missionary. For over 65 years, The Advance has been the official program of The United Methodist Church for voluntary, designated, second-mile giving. Administrative costs for The Advance are funded by World Service and other sources.
During these 65 years, The Advance has worked with church leaders around the world to ensure the approved projects are aligned with the goals of The United Methodist Church in local areas and helps develop partnerships that are mutually advantageous.
The Advance connects donors with more than 800 ministries and more than 300 mission personnel around the world, included the United States. The Advance communicates with donors, sharing stories about projects and missionaries, as well as reporting on how gifts are making an impact.
