Hands of Hope (HOH) has been active in Liberia since 2008 through church building, education, safe-drinking water, medical clinic and agricultural initiatives.
Partnering with the Liberia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, HOH teams have helped construct and/or start 11 churches in the Weala and Gbarnga Districts.
Since 2011, under the leadership of The Rev. Dr. Troy Benitone, HOH medical teams provided medical-surgical-optical-dental clinic outreach to thousands of patients. Their 9th Liberian Outreach is scheduled for March 2019.
Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia, under the leadership of Dr. Chris Hena, partners with HOH to prepare patients at her Waterfield Clinic in Kakata for medical and surgical services provided by HOH. The clinic screens patients and provides post-operative care.
Patients come to the Waterfield Clinic from all of the catchment areas and villages around Margibi County. The actual surgeries are performed at the Weala UMC Medical-Surgical Center (aka Weala United Methodist Clinic), which is located in Weala, 15 miles from Kakata. All procedures provided by HOH are free.
