Update on the New Dental Clinic: Six dental pallets were shipped from Denver to Philadelphia on July 3, 2019 for the new Dental Clinic at Waterfield Primary Health Care Center (WPHCC). Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia received confirmation that they arrived at the proper destination for inspection about 8 days later. The equipment has not arrived in Kakata, Liberia to date (September 2019); we will keep the reader posted.
Visiting Dentist: Dr. Hena and her staff welcomed Dr. Megan Fields, a dentist, who was traveling in the Kakata area with her parents to work on their vocational training center.
Dr. Megan donated dental services at WPHCC for several days while she was in Kakata when her family was meeting with community leaders in the area.
Dr. Hena has a portable dental chair set up in the future space of the new dental clinic. She obtained the chair when she was serving in Kazakhstan and brought it to Kakata when she moved back to Liberia.
Dr. Hena said that at end of Megan’s time with the WPHCC staff, they had a little farewell party for her. “It was beautiful,” she said. “We ate together, danced and … Senator Cooper joined us. It was real fun.” Thank-you Dr. Megan.
